As followers of Christ, we are called to grow in faith, love one another, and serve others. These three principles guide everything we do as a church.
Jesus says in John 14:15, “If you love me, you will keep My commandments.” We love God because He first loved us (1 John 4:19). We live our lives obedient to His Word & call, following after His plan to save mankind, while planting & watering seeds of truth and service along the way! (Acts 2:38-47; 1 Corinthians 3:6)
Loving people as yourself can be a hard thing to do. We love ourselves enough to take care of our own physical, mental, emotional, financial, and spiritual well-being, but we should seek to put the well-being of others first in our own lives! And yes… that includes our enemies too (Matthew 5:43-44)!
We must learn to love ourselves last! How can you learn to properly love others if we don’t love the person God has created us to be? We are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalms 139:14) in God’s image (Genesis 1:26). He loves you so much that He knew the world needed a YOU to be here!
